KEEPING A BRIGHT LIGHT LIT
Mostly on Facebook we see the cherished days of our beautifully ordinary lives played out. We view pictures and hear stories of fantastic vacations, hard earned work promotions, the birth of precious children and grand-children, family gatherings and friendly reunions. We "like" all day long . . . and we mean it. Mostly we "like" what we see because we are reminded of how we first knew each other. Grade school, high school buddies. A diverse and meaningful group of kids who never forget our roots and valued our friendships. A group of kids who grew into incredible adults . . . who don't forget.
One of our brightest lights is in trouble . . . big trouble. She needs our prayers, no doubt. Along with that, she needs our monetary help like nobody else! We all know the never ending spirit that sparkles from her beautiful face and lights up every room she walks into. We all know who brings life to the party. Shawn Ramirez has been diagnosed with brain cancer (2 tumors) - prognosis is frightening and so is the treatment. She is in for a long hard fight. She cannot work. She cannot pay her mortgage. Her health insurance covers next to nothing. She needs our help . . . now.
A GoFundMe account has been set up in her name so we can help Shawn keep her home. To her 1,182 friends on Facebook . . . I humbly appeal to you. If each of us on Facebook, who have friended her, contributed $2 a month . . . her bills are paid. Please give what you can as often as you can. She would never ask for this - that's why I am asking for her. (There are people trying to help her get assistance from any and all government agencies or non-profit organizations - I will keep you informed of that progress. If you can help in that way as well private message me, but in the meantime she needs a roof over her tired and weary head.) Thank you for listening. Thank you for helping our dear friend Shawn! Let's help keep a bright light lit!
