Hello, it's me, Xylo! As of posting, it is my 25th birthday! I can now rent a car and qualify for federal EITC. I'd also age out of my parents' health insurance if I hadn't stopped qualifying 7 years ago, but most importantly: experts say I need my wisdom teeth out ASAP!! That's right, 17-25 is the recommended timeframe to get your wisdom teeth removed before further development increases the chance of complications.
My wisdom teeth are already complicated. They have been uncomfortable for 5 years, and this last year I've suffered especially painful inflammation and frequent infection. The impactions are up against nerves and my sinus cavity; they are pushing out nearby molars and causing gum rot. None of these cases are especially severe, YET.
Which is why my goal for the past year has been to get my wisdom teeth removed. I now have an estimate for how much wisdom teeth removal will cost and would love for any friends and family to make my birthday gift a donation towards this goal of mine.
The Breakdown:
Extraction for Molars #1, #17: $250 ea
Extraction for Molars #16, #32: $350 ea
General Anesthesia for 90min: $300
Consult: $50
CT Scan: $450
Total Cost: $2000
I am still an appointment away from scheduling the actual surgery, but I am excited for a future where I don't have gum and jaw pain, can brush and floss all my teeth without additional tools, and never taste gum rot.
