On 19th September 2019, everybody's best friend, Peter Knott suffered a stroke. Since that date, he has remained in hospital, regaining speech and his ability to walk. 

Anyone who knows Pete, knows how passionate he is about his work and giving to kids who are doing it tough. Unfortunately, now Pete's the one doing it tough, and  it's time for us to give back to him. We can all attest to Pete being the most generous person we know, so now we have the opportunity to show how much we care and love him. 

Pete started with Youth Justice NSW as a sessional supervisor in 2004. For the last 15 years, Pete's been the guy who helps young people who have committed offences to get back on track. Despite Pete's passion, he's remained working as a casual contractor, so he's not able to access the same benefits as a permanent employee. Sadly for Pete, this means no income or sick leave entitlements while he's trying to recover from his stroke. 

Pete's now relying on his family for financial support - the bills don't stop, regardless of where Pete is at. Instead of focusing on recovery, Pete's worrying about losing his job, and making ends meet, and the financial strain he now places on his family. 

Since suffering a stroke, Pete's no longer able to do all the things he loves. Before this, he was a super active guy, who loved being around his family and friends, doing his part for the community, and of course his daily bike ride. 

It doesn't matter how big or small your contribution is - every cent will make a difference in helping both Pete and his family.
