Hello, my name is Justin and my best buddy Oscar needs help.

Before I go into his health issue, I want to tell you about who he is and why is he is so important to me, as well as anyone who ever come within petting paths.

Oscars story starts off 11 years ago, when my girlfriend at the time said "hey, one of my co-workers has some kittens, and I would love to go over and look at them." I had no plans on owning a cat, but that day for ever changed my life. I still remember walking in the backyard and seeing all these little kittens walking about. My girlfriend fell in love as soon as she saw all of them.

She asked "can we get one?"

I didn't want to, but something flickered in me and I responded with "as long as I get to pick him out." She agreed immediately. I began my search and spotted Oscar, this little grey stripped tabby kitten. As I go to pick him up, he zooms away and over the edge of the patio. I run down the stairs and run around the wall to see him climbing down this wooden pallet that is resting against the patio. I quickly grab him and I knew in that moment he was the one.

The previous owner was happy he had a new home and my girlfriend sat in the back of the car with him clinging to her chest the whole way home. The moment we got home and set him down, he ran behind a couch and we thought... "oh boy, we have one of those cats whose going to hide all the time."

Oscar has been anything but that. He was named after my girlfriends grandfather. He has turned out to be the best, and I mean the best cat I've ever known in my life. He is the most friendly cat you will ever meet. He never hisses, he never growls, he only ever meows and shows love. He is a social butterfly and love humans. When we have people over, he never hides, he rubs and loves up on everyone.

Over the last month I've noticed there has been something in his mouth bothering him. I wasn't sure if at first he had a long hair or something stuck in his mouth, but something has been bothering him. Today I took him to the vet, where he allowed the vets to look in his mouth, received 2 shots, and never once hissed, growled, swat or bit at anyone. He is such a nice cat, it kills me that bad things happen to such nice creatures. The vet discovered he has some sort of, growth or something on his upper right gum. He is scheduled to go in for surgery next week on the 17th.

The vets say the bill will cost somewhere around $1300-1500 to remove what ever this growth is. No questions asked, I'm dropping this on my credit card because I only want the best for him. I've never considered anything like GoFundMe before, but figure why not. Maybe someone out there reading this will feel compelled to help Oscar in any way they can. I know there are many story on here and they are all deserving. Just know that Oscar and I will be truly grateful for any support we receive to help him get the care he needs.
