Please consider supporting The Emerging Playwrights Reading series showcasing new plays by Thea Fitz-James & Justin Otto, Keara Voo, and Rebecca Ostroff at The Theatre Centre September 21-22, 2024!

Concept: over the course of a week, emerging and early career playwrights will workshop their plays with a cast and the support of established Directors and Dramaturgs. The plays will then be showcased as readings for Toronto’s theatre community, with the intention of bridging the gap between theatre companies, producers, and emerging artists.

The catch: Making a festival this big with a team of nearly 20 creatives is a big undertaking, requiring a lot of care and a lot of financial support! We will be using a profit-share model to ensure that our artists are paid for their time. This means that artists will be paid a portion of all funds raised and tickets sold, no matter what.

Where you come in: By donating to The Emerging Playwrights Reading Series, you are directly ensuring that artists are paid for their time and that the cost of putting up the series is covered. While we can’t give you things to thank you, we want to give you a shout out on our social media (@theflareproductions), in our programs, and on our website.
