This October, I’ll be running the Manchester Half Marathon to raise money for The Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID), a cause that personally means a lot to me.

In 2023, I was diagnosed with cholesteatomas in both ears, a serious ear condition that required multiple surgeries. It’s a condition many people have never heard of - yet, if left untreated, it can cause hearing loss, infections, and long-term complications. Going through this experience made me realise just how little awareness exists surrounding hearing conditions and ear health.

Because of this, I would like to raise more awareness, shine a light on lesser-known conditions like cholesteatoma, and support the life-changing work RNID does for deaf and hard-of-hearing people across the UK.

Any donation, big or small, will go to RNID to help to fund vital research, support services, and public awareness campaigns.
