Hi, my name is Adam Sherrell. I am graciously asking for donations to help my son with his monthly bills. He was wrongfully terminated from his employment at Vons in Bakersfield California.
January 19th
- While taking the trash out at work (Vons) my oldest son was assaulted. A man punched him in the face and while he was defending himself the man’s wife pepper sprayed my son. My son was able to run away and get back inside the store.
March 17th
- Again, my son was taking out the trash at work. He heard footsteps behind him and when he turned around a man was lunging at him with a knife. Luckily he had a roll of trash bags in his aprons front pocket. The knife went into the roll of trash bags. Thank God my son was not seriously physically injured or even killed.
April 1st
- The was a customer inside the store causing trouble and scaring other customers. My son went and got the store manager and security guard. I saw a video to where my son, the store manager and security were standing up front and a man came up and got into my sons face. My son took a couple steps back and the man stepped forward and got into his face again. My son stepped back again and this time the guy step toward him and chest bumped him. My son felt very threatened and felt he had to defend himself so he pushed the guy away. The guy then swung and punched my son what I believe is a total of three times, and Security still did nothing.
all 3 of these incidences, the police department was called and police reports were made. On April 3rd my son requested Workmen’s Comp. paperwork because he was having nightmares and panic attacks ever since he was almost stabbed. Seven days later on April 10 my son was suspended pending investigation. He was then called in on April 19 and terminated because he touched a customer.
now that he has a termination on his record, we are having trouble finding another job.
