A Service Dog for Kenzie
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kenzie Potter. I am 16 years old and attend a residential high school in North Carolina. A few weeks ago I was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTs). Because of this illness, I faint multiple times a day and am struggling to keep my myself up because of the side effects. I am a very driven person and don't like when there are setbacks to my success. Unfortunately POTs has been a major setback. I'm not used to being so dependent on people, and I'm still not. My friends have to walk with me to class so they can catch me if I faint. I'm never allowed to be alone! This is when my family and I started doing research on service dogs. A service dog could respond to my fainting spells, stabalize me when walking, and give me some independence. I'm tired of feeling like a burden on my friends. In order to get a service dog, I would need thousands of dollars that I don't have. With my parents both being teachers and my countless doctor appointments and trips to the hospital, we just can't afford one. This is why I need you. I need your help so I can turn my dream of independence into a reality. I need you so I can have my life back again. Please help!
