Support Michael's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected

Michael Balistreri, 1988 Coatesville graduate, sustained a life-altering event on June 27, 2024. In the early hours of the morning, he was discovered at the bottom of the stairs at the family home. The fall resulted in severe injuries, including a spinal cord injury leaving Michael paralyzed from the chest down.
Michael and his wife Danette are well known in the community. Michael is employed by the Octorara Area School District, where he is their electrician in the Maintenance Department. Danette retired from the District last year after 15 years as the Administrative Assistant at the Octorara Primary Learning Center. Their adult children helping Danette with Michael’s care duties are Andrew MacDonald, Amanda Balistreri Asroff, and her husband Vinny Asroff.
It is Michael’s greatest hope to return to his position at Octorara when he heals. His injury has been diagnosed as a SCI-incomplete. Time is a large factor in his healing as his spinal nerves need to reconnect. He continues physical therapy. Currently, Michael uses a large electric wheelchair and hospital bed and needs continuous medical home care.
We kindly ask for your generosity to help cover these expenses.
If you are unable to donate, we ask that you pray for Michael’s recovery and please share this campaign with others.
