A Friend In Need After Car Fire
Donation protected
Please help Adrianne get a car! Last week, the very old car she inherited from her deceased mother caught on fire as she was driving it. The firemen came, thought the fire was contained, and sent her on her way. Again, her car caught on fire. The vehicle is completely destroyed and this woman is utterly distraught. She lives an ascetic life, and scrapes by with 3 part time jobs.
Adrianne left a nice job in Washington DC several years ago in order to care for her dying mother 3 hours away, who was in her 90’s. She had hoped to return to her job afterwards. Fortunately, her mother survived another 5 years, but unfortunately this woman was unable to re-enter the workforce in the same position she once held. Currently, she works 3 different jobs, each in a serving capacity to the community. She has GREAT difficulty making ends meet. It's incredibly difficult to find a company that will give an older person full time work.
I’m touched by this story because few people would leave a comfortable career and life to be sole care-giver for an elderly, sick parent. I'd love to show our community that good deeds such as that do pay off in the end.
Adrianne and I work together at one of her jobs, and a few of us are helping her get to and from work. I want to help Adrianne purchase a used car as soon as possible. She needs to get back and forth from her 3 jobs, and I know she would be eternally grateful. There is no amount that's too small.
Thank you so much for reading this. Happy holidays to you and yours.
