Save Serendipity Therapeutic Riding

*****URGENT UPDATE*****

On September 19th 2019 Serendipity Therapeutic Riding Center received news that the farm is being sold and we will have to vacate before December 1, 2019.  Thankfully we were able to quickly find a new location nearby.  In order for us to be able to transition safely some adaptations will need to be made to the new property, such as a septic system and a mobile home to enable us to care for our therapy horses 24/7.  This transition was not something Serendipity was prepared for and is a huge expense both emotionally and financially .  As our motto has always been, we are focusing on what we CAN do and forging ahead as best we can.  We have a lot to do in a very limited amount of time; with the help of our friends, family and supporters we are certain we can make this happen.  We are kindly asking for support, donations and physical assistance to help us in our relocation.  We are tremendously grateful for all of those who've come together to help Serendipity "Ride On."

Serendipity was established in 2013 as a horseback riding program for adults and children with special needs. Initially Serendipity leased space and horses from an existing horseback riding facility.  In May of 2017, Serendipity was given the opportunity to relocate 41 miles South of its prior location to its own private rental facility.  With only one horse of our own and no farming equipment we decided to take the leap.  

Since then Serendipity has grown immensely.  We now have 7 horses who are actively involved in our program.  Two of our original riders and our Horses and Heroes veterans groups came along with us to the new farm.  Throughout the last year an additional 32 (active) riders have joined them!  It has been magical to see our horses transition so well into the role of a therapy horse, as well as watching each of our new riders grow and thrive.

Sounds great, right? 
Well, yes.  All of the above is great.
The difficult part is, we cannot pay our bills.

In April of 2018 we began the process of becoming a 501(c)3, a fully charitable nonprofit organization.  Seven months later we are anxiously awaiting our federal approval from the IRS (we are currently registered as a Charitable Organization in PA).  Once approval is given, the opportunity to apply for grants and funding will become available to us, which will certainly assist us in the future.  

In part our faith in the human spirit; our belief in the connection between humans and horses and our belief that indeed ALL THINGS ARE  POSSIBLE is what has carried us this far.  Our horses health and safety as well of the health and safety of our riders is always our top priority.  So while we have been able to meet the needs of our horses and riders, other expenses have gone unmet; leaving us in debt and in danger of losing our opportunity to remain on this farm.
