Hello everyone, my name is Erica Jackson. Several months ago I was hit head-on by a drunk driver, and it has forever changed my life. I'm still being treated for my traumatic brain injury and now it's time for knee replacement surgery which will be in approximately two weeks.
I've worked hard all of my life and I've spent my life volunteering for others. I'm a giver and have never had an issue supporting others. This time I need assistance to stay afloat while I continue to get assistance from the brain injury clinic, counseling and now knee replacement healing. I've exhausted my personal funds and have been seeking assistance from government agencies and churches, but there is a waitlist for everything--for months and some even years. I was recently told to go to the homeless shelter. Some people really don't understand how frail my health is right now and how dangerous that would be for me. I was being offered a program to offer substantially reduced housing, prescription medical coverage and trauma counseling, but with recent events everything was canceled. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to return to working on any major level anytime soon. Please share anything you can for rent, utilities, medicine and even to pay people to help me (I live alone), I am exceedingly grateful. I'm also asking for your prayers. That's the most important part of this equation. I'm nervous and even scared. I've been through alot. Most of this, I've managed on my own but I really need the community I love so dearly to step in for me. If you would donate, share my story, ask friends to support me as well, keep the prayers flowing, send encouraging messages, I know that I can get through this. I thank God for this GoFundMe platform even though I"ve never had to use it. I'm stepping out on faith and I'm asking you to join in with me. Thank you for your kindness, consideration and sacrifice...
I still believe in miracles, and I know God’s hand is on me through this challenging season. I know that there is a whole lot of love in our world and I send my love out to you, too. Together, we can get through this. Thank you for your kindness and consideration.
