Help for College

Hello everyone. My name is Matthew Julien Milotakis. I am a trans man who is trying to accomplish their dream with my studies. My house has never been a comfortable place for me, my family can not and will not help me financially on my journey as much as I ask them too. My family will not pay for my college even though it was something we had previous discussed being taken care of by them. While my dad has prostate cancer and I just want to complete college, my mother withholds funds from the entire family and uses it for her own purposes, leaving the family without necessary funds for everyday needs. I am not  protected or happy in my house, I do not have my own room, I sleep in a room with my father. I have been hospitalized before for self harm and I hope to use my journey to help others. Upon entering Roger Williams University, I have never felt so at home. I have made the dean's list in my first semester, I have a radio show on campus, I work under the English Department where I hope to continue to work on the department and help it grow. I also hope to start a program there for mental health as I've worked in numerous organizations in Florida.
