To new begginings

Olá, o meu nome é Nuno Sousa, a.k.a. Gaia, e sou dono da loja de skate Kate Skateshop que este ano fez 18 anos. Ultimamente, muitas lojas deste género têm encerrado ou estão a passar uma fase má e a Kate não é exceção. Recentemente, reestruturei a empresa e tenho agora dívidas que quero saldar para poder dar continuidade a este projeto. Este que é também uma plataforma que permite que novos skaters possam conhecer novas pessoas que partilhem o mesmo gosto por esta modalidade. A Kate serve também de ponte entre skaters e marcas, tendo contribuído para que muitos skaters do Porto conseguissem apoios ou patrocínios, e ajuda os skaters locais com eventos como o “go skateboarding day” e outros, de forma a que a modalidade cresça e os skaters se sintam motivados. A Kate também está envolvida em projetos culturais e audiovisuais que promovem a modalidade e a expressão artística dentro da comunidade.

Este dinheiro vai servir para criar e investir em fazer merchandising da Kate que os seus clientes se identifiquem e que seja mais rentável para a empresa, permitindo assim o pagamento dessas dívidas.

O futuro será ter uma empresa mais sustentável e trabalhar com pessoas que também apoiam.

Toda a ajuda será preciosa nesta nova fase. E mesmo que não consigam ajudar agora, talvez de futuro o possam fazer, adquirindo algum produto da Kate.

Hi, I’m Nuno Sousa – a.k.a. Gaia – and I’m the owner of KATE Skateshop, that turned 18 this year.

Lately, many shops of this kind have been closing down or facing tough times, and Kate is no exception.

I recently restructured the company, which has resulted in debts that I want to settle in order to continue this project. It is also a platform that enables young skaters to meet new people who share the same passion for this sport. Kate also acts as a connection between skaters and brands, enabling many Porto-based skaters to obtain support or sponsorships. It helps local skaters through events like “Go Skateboarding Day” and other initiatives, fostering the growth of the sport and keeping skaters motivated. Kate is also involved in cultural and audiovisual projects, so as to promote both skateboarding and the artistic expression within the community.

This funding will be used to create and invest in merchandise for Kate that connect with its customers, deliver greater profitability, and allow me to repay the aforementioned debts.

The aim for the future is to build a more sustainable business and collaborate with people who support the cause. Any help during this new chapter will be much appreciated. And even if you’re unable to help right now, perhaps in the future you could do so by purchasing a product from Kate.
