Dear Friends and Family,

For those of you that know our dad know that he is a very independent man. He is also one of the strongest human beings we know. He cares so much for people and always enjoyed helping anyone in need. Whether you are a family member, a friend, a neighbor or even a stranger, he would do anything he could to help you. If you weren't smiling, he would ask you "how come you're not smiling?!" "Do you need a hug?!" And most everyone needs a hug from him. He would hug you so tight that your back would hurt and you would forget about anything negative that was on your mind. If he wasn't cooking something, he was fixing something, if he wasn't fixing something, he was building something, the man never knew how to relax.

About a year ago our dad received some news, he was told that he had non malignant polyps on his vocal chords and that they were able to remove these, but within a matter of weeks they would come back. After going back and having these removed, he knew his body well enough to know that something further must be wrong. Three months later after MRI, PET Scan and further examination they gave him dreadful news, he now had stage 1 throat cancer and that they were going to have to begin radiation right away. After 45 sessions of radiation, the cancer was so aggressive it was not doing anything but keeping the cancer contained. After another few appointments and biopsy's the best decision to get rid of this aggressive cancer was to have a Laryngectomy (removal of the voice box, vocal chords and lymph-nodes). His surgery was on August 17th. After 14 hours on the operating table we couldn't wait to hear what the results would be. Praying every day/night that this horrific battle our dad is fighting was going to be over. We were then told that the cancer that had been removed from his throat was at stage 4. One blurry week later, we received the news we feared, this cancer is so aggressive it has now spread to stage 4 lung cancer. Our biggest and worst nightmare has begun... After 3 very long weeks in the hospital, dad is now home. He has 3 daughters, 4 granddaughters, a little brother (Steve) and a wife watching and caring for him 24/7. We are helping him gain his strength to move forward with treatment so that we can prolong his life.

Money raised will help him/us cover some of the expenses that come along with such a life changing event. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Let's make sure dad continues to touch everyone around him.

FAMILY & FRIENDS- We do not have email addresses for everyone so please forward to those who know our dad.
