Thinking about what I want to accomplish for my Girl Scout Silver Award Project, I noticed that local animal shelters were being overwhelmed with surrendered pets because families in this pandemic are faced with financial challenges.
In order to reduce the number of families who are forced to give up their beloved pets and to support those who could use a bit of help feeding and/or caring for their cats or dogs, I decided to set up a Middlesex Pet Pantry to supply food and necessities for families.
My parents and I contacted the head of Master Yu’s Black Belt Institute who I have trained with in Tae-Kwon-Do since I was eight, Master Chris Yu, and he kindly offered to allow the pantry to reside in his studio’s driveway which is centric in town.
With my goal to launch a Middlesex Pet Pantry, I organized this fundraiser and I am asking your financial support in this endeavor with a $1500 goal in mind. These funds will be used for the purchase and installation of a pantry shed, and to stock the pantry with needed pet items. We are going to start with supplies for cats and dogs. I am aiming to have raised the funds by November 30, 2020 so that we can help families as soon as possible.
Families need to keep their beloved animals in this challenging time. Please consider donating to this Go Fund Me! No amount is too small! I am grateful for your support and I know how much my pet means to our family.
