Jack’s Journey

Hi , my name is Tanya and I am Tammy’s cousin in law. With consent from Tammy I am setting up this go fund me page to help ease the financial pressure of Tammy and her beautiful family during this difficult time. As many of you know and have heard Tammy’s son Jack is unwell at the moment and their lives have been flipped upside down in the past few days.
It was the end of term 1 of school and Jack had come home and was eating at the table and I noticed he had a growth on his neck. He wasn't phased by it at all however I didn't like the look of it and decided to take him to nepean hospital. They were concerned as well and he was hospitalised and given antibiotics to treat lymphaditis (which does look the same). After a course his neck had gone down and we able to go home which he recieved 2 more rounds of antibiotics as each time he stopped the lump grew big again. Shortly after he had trouble breathing and we were back at the hospital and he had strider and tested positive for covid at the time and they weren't concerned about his neck as he receiving another course of antibiotics. During this time Jack was still going to school and going to sports however I noticed he was tired and not himself I took him our doctor and he wasn't happy of all the antibiotics and referred us to a paediatrician as well as doing bloods on Jack. The doctor told us he was low in iron and vitamin d which can make you tired so we gave him vitamins. The paediatrician also ran bloods and a biopsy. Jack had the bloods done but we only got his biopsy done with the help of Jacks ENT team who were checking up on him from his nose and ear surgery from Christmas. The paediatrician then notified us that Jack had cat scratch disease that had shown up through his bloods and gave him treatment for it. In the meantime Jacks ENT team got a second opinion from another specialist look at his samples.
On Friday 1/9/23 Tammy received no news a mother would ever want to hear that her boy Jack may possibly have Hodgkin’s Lymphoma , the dr told her Jack had a localised lymphoma mostly in his neck that has gone down just above his chest. He is having surgery this Monday 4/9/23 and having a biopsy but the lymph will stay. They will insert the feeder line through a vein and it will come out at the chest. Jack will be required to stay In hospital all week while he recuperates and will probably start chemo this week.
Tammy has had to put work on hold to be with her Boy and is not sure yet how long she will be out of work. Not only does she have the worry and stress of her son but she also has the worry about income so I am asking for you all to dig deep and support Tammy and her family during this difficult time and help ease the financial stress and pressures from her.
I will continue to update this post as time goes on in regards to jack and his medical condition.
We really appreciate any amount big or small and know that this will help out a lot.
7/9/23 - I would like to advise and inform you all that unfortunately Tammy received the news that no mother ever wants to hear. It was confirmed from the biopsy results that little Jack has Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Please see the updates provided on this go fund me page.
