Gail is one of the most selfless, kind, amazing people I know. She was a social worker for 30+ years where she took care of countless families, patients and always had a place in her heart for anyone in need. Now Gail needs our help. She has been a patient at Presbyterian St. Luke's, in Denver, for multiple month's now where she received a stem cell transplant to treat Stiff Person's Syndrome. This is a very rare disease where you slowly become more and more stiff, just as the name sounds, and more and more dependent. Her daughter Zoya has been at her bedside nonstop helping take care of her but as been commuting back and forth between their home in Kansas City to Denver, where Gail received this medical trial in hopes of regaining some independence and abilities to get back to a more normal life. After numerous complications and an extended stay at the hospital, it's finally time for Gail to get back home. She has completed treatment and will transition to a rehab facility where she can keep working on gaining strength and getting back to her old self. However, this is where we need your help. Insurance won't cover a rehab facility in Denver, nor will it cover an ambulance ride to get back home. So she is essentially stuck. She has been such a strong, amazing human through all of this, but this last hurdle has been too much and even now has a hard time asking for help. Please help me get her back home near family and back under her insurance coverage so she can continue her journey toward health.
