Hi, first let me say thank you for taking the opportunity to read my fund. My name is Marco and I’m a small minority-owned business that provides computer and phone repair services since 2015 in the Las Vegas area. My business was hit hard due to COVID 19 closure. The closure was long and difficult for me and my staff. I was lucky enough to have savings that carry me through the pandemic. My team on the other hand were not so lucky.
My main concern throughout the closure was continuing to pay staff which I was able to do while paying all expenses as well. Now I have drained my savings and I'm worried about more possible closures. On a positive note, we are slowly getting back normal operations since reopening. Business is very slow at the moment. We are expecting things to get better as people fell more comfortable moving around. In the future, I hope I can offer assistance to other small minority-owned businesses in Las Vegas who are struggling as well.
It’s difficult for a minority-owned business to obtain loans and raise capital. This fund is an opportunity to accomplish our goals below.
Paid sick time for employees affected by COVID 19 for up to 14 days.
Crisis pay for employees who aren’t sick but need time off to care for sick elderly family members.
Employees who need time off to care for their children.
Establish an Employee Emergency Assistance Fund.
Savings plan for future shutdown due to COVID 19 or any unexpected disasters.
