Help Erin Pay for Medical care

Hi, my name is Kathleen and i’m asking for help for my best friend, Erin.

Erin is a cancer survivor, and for the past year he been battling for her life once again, this time with a mystery illness. She has been suffering with a long list of symptoms and pain that can be triggered by many different things. her sensitivity to light and extremely weakened immune system has made it nearly impossible for her to even leave her home. She has been struggling with such severe issues with her skin and hair, causing her to loose her hair and eyelashes again.

She has had countless appointments and tests, but receiving very little answers and although some of her doctors here in Saint John believe it could be Lupus and/or Dermatomyostis, she has yet to receive a final diagnosis or treatment plan.

Recently as her symptoms have been worsening, she has had to seek health care elsewhere. She just got back from her first trip to the United States, to Bringham Woman’s Hospital in Boston where she finally has a team of doctors who are taking her symptoms more seriously and know that she is suffering from a rare autoimmune disease. Unfortunately, this medical care is costing Erin’s family completely out of pocket. She has been completely unable to work herself, in months. Her absolute angel of a Fiancé, Cody has been working non stop 7 days a week 13 hour shifts as a nurse to try and pay for all their regular bills, all of her medications, and now the extra travel and medical bills. Each visit to the hospital in Boston costs between 800-900$ and that’s not including the gas and accommodations. not to mention Cody having to take time off from work when he is their only source of income.

Erin has been so strong, and has always been so fun and full of life, it has been heart breaking watching her have to miss out on living a normal life. We all just want to see her healthy again, and getting answers is the first step towards that. A huge trigger for flare ups for her is stress, and this has been an extremely stressful situation for her and everyone in her life. Erin’s life is priceless, and I don’t want her to miss out on proper care because they can’t afford it. I am hoping that we can raise some money to relieve some of the stress for her so she can focus on healing and continue to be able to visit her new medical team in Boston.
