On Wedensday, June 24, Jody Batson and her mom were on their way to visit family in Greenville.  Unfortunately, they were in a serious car accident and Jody's mother did not survive.

Jody is currently in the hospital with several injuries and it is unclear at this time what her prognosis will be. She is on a ventilator with a bruised lung, she has broken and shattered bones in her arms, and her neck is broken. Before any neck surgery is done, the doctors are waiting for Jody to be in stable condition.

Jody is a retired Kindergarten teacher who went back to work as a Child Development assistant and had a second retirement just this year. She was excited about spending more time with her mom and enjoying retirement. In a split second, her life is forever changed. 

Jody has a long road to recovery with surgeries and physical therapy and the medical bills are going to be costly.
