Greetings,
My name is Leah Wardlaw and I have been selected to participate as a “Pink Ice” Debutante in the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Xi Upsilon Omega Chapter’s, Cultured Pearls Debutante Cotillion. This opportunity has been afforded to me along with 20 other young ladies who will be participants in this life changing experience over the next few months. On November 21, 2015, I will be formally presented to society at the Fredericksburg Expo Center. I am asking for your support as I begin the journey toward becoming Miss Debutante 2015.
I am a student at Fredericksburg Christian Schools where I have attended for the past 12 years. Throughout my high school career I have maintained a 3.5 GPA with many rigorous and advance courses. One of my most proud achievements was being accepted into the advanced art program where I was awarded “Best in Show” in 2013. Along with these academic achievements, I have participated on the Varsity cheer team for four years, Varsity soccer, and cross country. In addition, I am a member of several clubs including: The Homecoming Committee, The Decorating Committee and Class Fundraising Committee.
I am comfortable with my spiritual gifts and have a passion for using them to better both myself and my community. I am an advocate for social change with a passion for inspiring youth to seek education on social issues that affect our world today. In my leisure I have enjoyed traveling around the world while experiencing a diverse array of cultures in an effort to become more aware of the world around us. Moreover, I have logged in over 800 hours in service to my community.
The goal of Debutante Cotillion program is to raise funds that support the missions of Alpha Kappa Alpha in their community service efforts. In addition 50% of all funds raised will go towards a scholarship that will benefit my future college education. With the help of my parents and my sponsors, Mrs. Elma Williams Coleman, Ms. Shawn Johnson, and Mrs. Judeatte Braswell, we are asking for your support with a contribution towards my aspirations in becoming Miss Debutante 2015.
