Freddie's Fundraiser

Can you help cheer up Freddie?

Freddie is a larger than life Thrapston boy who plays for Thrapston Town Juniors Under 14 Warriors football team. He also plays for the town's junior cricket team.

A few week's agao Freddie had a very bad sinus infection which led to swelling and a lump on his forehead. After a scans it unfortunately showed that the infection has corroded part of his skull. He therefore underwent emergency neurosurgery at John Radcliffe Hospital to stop the infection from reaching his brain which could have been critical. As a result he has had part of his skull removed and will have to wear a skull cap for a while. The plan is to repair the skull with a cosmetic replacement in a few months. This means that he can’t play sport for a few months which is obviously frustrating for a sports mad kid like Freddie. Our hope is that he can play football and cricket again in the summer once he has had further treatment. At the moment he has to travel to hospital each day for medication.

The boys in the team, the coaches and the club want to cheer Freddie up during his recovery! We have already arranged for some players from his beloved Cambridge United to give him a telephone call but would like to be able to send Freddie to see his team on a hospitality day to give him something to look forward to and cheer him up.

We know that Freddie will be back playing football and cricket really soon but hope that any help you can give will speed up his recovery!
