Hi, my name is Mateo Achico, and I’m a high school student in Los Angeles. I’m reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart to ask for support for my cousin, Jasen Almario, who lives in the Philippines and is currently battling Nephrotic Syndrome. This condition is a serious kidney disorder that causes the body to lose large amounts of protein through the urine. As a result, it leads to severe swelling (especially in the face, legs, and abdomen), fatigue, and a much higher risk of infections and other complications. Managing this illness requires ongoing medical care, medications, and frequent hospital visits, which have become a significant financial burden for his family. Jasen is a strong and kind person who is doing his best to stay positive despite the challenges he faces every day. Unfortunately, access to consistent treatment and medication in the Philippines can be difficult, especially without the financial means to support it. That’s why I’ve started this GoFundMe—to help ease the cost of his medical expenses and give him a better chance at recovery and stability. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to Jasen and our family. If you’re unable to give, simply sharing this page would also make a huge difference. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can offer.
