Health, medical care for our friend Nunzio Lorito

Hi it's Claire here, I am starting this fundraising 16 days into Nunzio's latest admission to the hospital, which was due to a number of coincident issues, the worst one being his becoming confused and dissociated with reality.

Nunzio has recently become affected by dementia, Sometimes he is able to connect with everyone but increasingly this is not occurring and he needs a lot of help. He is sweet, tender, and trying, as always, but now he will require around-the-clock care.

On Nunzio's discharge, I will be unable to fulfill all that he requires to be well, comfortable, and secure and that is why I am connecting with you today, to join our forces and come all together as a net, to catch Nunzio from falling into the abyss of dementia alone and without the help, love, and comfort of us all.

I have made many inquiries and I have come up with the conviction that the best thing to do for Nunzio now, is to come home and have dedicated private care, over and above the limited care provided by the council and the NHS, the latter being together 10 hours a week at fixed, schedule times.

I will keep doing my part, with love and dedication, but the recent explosion of Nunzio's needs requires an explosion of help from us all, in the form of financial contribution to the goal of giving Nunzio 6 hours a day of private care in his home in London.

I calculated the cost of one-year care to be 1,450 pounds a week or 150,000 pounds for two years, based on his average life expectancy. I opened a bank account dedicated to this fundraiser, from which only payments towards Nunzio's care will go out.
