My name is Lynda (Ward) Qassas, nickname (Ayishah), I am a single mother of two college students.  I lost my leg almost 29 years ago because of a basketball injury in 1986 and then diagnosed with Osteogenic Sarcoma aka Invasive Bone Cancer shortly thereafter. I am a survivor and I am very thankful. I thank God every day for every breath I breathe. Hardships always come a plenty but I refuse to be succumbed to any. In May, I had hand and elbow surgery on my right hand/elbow after a fall I sustained in September. Needless to say, in March I fell again and hard, this time it was on my right knee (the only one I have) which has forced me to make a decision to have a total knee replacement. Right now, I am only able to walk using a forearm and platform crutch (my right arm is still healing). My insurance will initially deny the claim, hence, I will have to appeal it to get any assistance if any for an electric scooter. Since I predominantly don't have a lot of physical help, I need something that will be easy to utilize, yet accomodate me at home and thereafter in getting around. By the time my insurance approves it, (if at all) then it may be too late. Reluctantly, I didn't want to burden anyone by doing this Go Fund Me, but my friends, family, and co-workers have encouraged me to do this. I am more than grateful and humbly ashamed to even ask. I trust that God will provide as He always has and does.
