Nur is a beloved Pamiri and Muslim organizer, educator and artist who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in October 2023. While the prognosis is positive, the out-of-pocket costs are projected to be $291,000 after insurance, subsidies, and grants. As Nur and her partner are already struggling to make ends meet, the exorbitant cost of treatment is impossible to afford on their own. We need your support to help Nur receive the life-saving care that she needs!
A formerly unhoused refugee and survivor of sexual assault, Nur is a brilliant political analyst and grassroots historian who has given deeply to community and transnational movement work. While spending the past year recovering from multiple surgeries related to disability and chronic illness, she has continued to educate and organize online, guided by her deep commitment to internationalist solidarity, indigenous sovereignty, and the liberation of her homelands. Showing up for Nur is one way to practice the collective care that is necessary in our failed and classist healthcare system, and means you are supporting the many networks of solidarity she is integral to.
Funds will go towards medical bills ($291,000) and basic needs ($5,000) to aid Nur's battle against cancer. The goal includes estimated transaction fees. If you would like to ensure your entire donation goes to Nur, you can send funds to Jade through Venmo (jadecho), Cash App (lotuspaste) or PayPal (jadecho). Please put a fruit emoji as the note. We are deeply gratitude for anything you are able to give! If you are interested in donating monthly or helping us secure a new laptop for Nur to support her comfort between treatments, please message Jade. Thank you so much for your support!
