My family are the ones in this news story. I know lots have questions about how we even got in the house why didn’t we look into everything more. So we actually spoke with the sharif’s about how to make sure it wasn’t a scam etc. we did absolutely everything he said looked it up online and made sure the phone number online was the same phone number that matched the for rent sign in the front of the house we did an application for them and once they got it they sent a lease that was signed. They also continued to speak to us after we sent money. I also noticed that the lease was okay for 4 months when it was supposed to be a be year. I let him know and he got back to me and sent a different one that had the corrections on it. We got the keys from the B lockbox that was on the door. They had to send us a link and register us for the website and we had to put in our information and a picture of our ID. Then it would generate a code that expired in a hour. So we went to see the house and wanted it so we filled everything out and even sending through Venmo we made sure to look at the past transactions and how long it was actually up for witch was like a normal person,had a picture of them, and was up for a few years. He told us to just take the key and when he was back from his business trip he’d come take the sign down from the yard and bring extra keys, take the lockbox off the door. and the garage openers. So we moved in the next day we moved in. The Monday morning we went to work got our 3 kids and went home and all this started. We called so many times to check what was going on called the actual company and they said that they were going to report it to the supervisor and just stay until we get a call about what’s next to do. When we reported it to the police they also said to just stay and wait. We are STILL waiting on the call we’ve called and left messages several times we still haven’t heard anything back from anyone. No letters on the door no one has come nothing. We can’t just leave we have 3 kids 4&5 and a 6 month old. So until someone comes or we find something we are stuck there. We put everything we had on the place and now we’re trying to get help. Made a GoFundMe and people think that it’s so crazy that we are just a scam. We’re up to 5 landlords that own the house. We’re trying everything to get out asap.
