Max's Emergency Surgery

Donation protected
Monday evening around 5:40 pm, Max ran out to greet Dad getting home from work - or so we thought.  Very out of character, Max continued full speed into rush hour traffic.  An SUV pulled him under the driver's side tire.  I instantly collapsed...

Once I pulled my head up I saw Danny still running and heard Max crying -- and still running! Kicking it into high gear we both took one side of Portland and kept running.  Having lost sight of our pupper and no longer hearing him, we approach the next intersection -- Washington and Portland.....

Having seen him get hit on 7th and Portland 10 mins earlier and nearly being hit multiple times myself, I had lost hope.

3 or 4 cars on the other side of traffic begin yelling at me and point down towards the river promising me hes alive!!!!  We are lucky enough to have a friend that near by with his vehicle and we take him straight to pupper ER!  Two hours, and 900 dollars later we find out he has many brakes in his left wrist which are jammed further up his leg separating and braking his ulna and radius.  Due to the cost and time we would even receive care we made a decision to have his come home with us and take him to a board certified surgeon first thing the next day.  We are so thankful they could perform surgery on such short notice and so blessed to have him home. alive.

The surgeon placed plates and screws up his whole leg, cleaned, clipped and stitched the road rash/cuts/padding ripped off his paws putting us out nearly $5,000 ALREADY (plate removal and more xrays to come).  This baby dogo is so strong and doing so well!   Thank you to all of you who have reached out.  Your support means so much.

Woof woof woof, ruff woof, ruff BOWOW ruff!
(Translation: Anything is appreciated and so VERY helpful!)

Thank you again,
love Maximus

p.s. I will be wearing a cone and hobbily wobbles for the next 2 months, please come pet me and show me love if you get the chance.
