Team USA-Wheelchair Basketball
Becoming disabled in a farm accident at age 2, I was always the youngster who wanted to grow up to be a professional athlete. Staying up late in the driveway shooting hoops, playing catch with my dad, or throwing a tennis ball of the garage door myself was something I would do with every spare second of my time. After attending a wheelchair basketball camp when I turned 11, I fell in love with the sport and began playing through my junior and senior high years. I was able to become a national mvp, national champion, travel the country, and even be recruited to play for a prestigious college program at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. The years of my undergrad gave me an even bigger picture of the work I needed to put in to be successful at a high level. I embraced that challenge and went on to win 3 national championships, make a USA team, and earn a degree!
Now I have been selected for another USA team to head to Japan; a place whose culture and food (sushi!) I have always wanted to experience! I am hoping you can help me get there this November!
