The Summit PBA is raising money for Officer Pyzik and his family to assist him financially while he recovers from his injuries.
Officer Pyzik is a three year member of the Summit Police Department. He was assisting a neighboring jurisdiction who were pursuing a stolen motor vehicle, traveling east on Morris Avenue when the suspect vehicle traveling west on Morris Avenue crossed the center line and collided head-on with his police vehicle causing extensive damage to both vehicles.
Officer Pyzik received lacerations to the head requiring 15 stitches, and will require surgery to repair femur, hip and wrist fractures.
