Im heartbroken to share the tragic loss of my dear friend MD Kawser Ahmed Kanock who was just 36 years old . He and his wife Sonia Akter 35 were childhood sweethearts from Bangladesh , they moved to London and we worked together for many years , they then moved to Portugal married Islamically and welcomed a beautiful baby boy , now only 14 months old

I was so happy for them that they had started this beautiful life together in the sun

My Friend was a truely wonderful man so kind and generous and always smiling even through hard times

together with Sonia they made such a wonderful couple he was a caring and loving friend husband and father

He was a hard working delivery driver for Glovo and was starting his shift when a speeding car going 140km per hour in a 30 km per hour zone struck and killed him instantly

Sonia is now left alone in Portugal with no family or friends to support her while grieving the loss of her husband and caring for their baby

The challenges are overwhelming they married Islamically , but the Portuguese state does not recognise the marriage because it wasn’t done officially in the Portuguese system . This means Sonia cannot receive a widow's pension . Also they were not living long enough in Portugal for their little baby to qualify for orphan benefits . Sonia is a very hardworking young woman and does have a small income but it’s very little and not enough to support herself and the child .

she has had to take time off work to grieve leaving her in an even more difficult position .

Im asking for your support _ whether through a donation or if that’s not possible just sharing this message so that Sonia can take the time she needs to heal and provide for their child in this incredibly difficult time.
