X-Vactor LED Vacuum Exposure Unit

Donation protected

What's going on y'all,

In the summer of 2019, a couple of friends an i received a grant to teach youth an intro to silk screen printing course that lasted 8 weeks. We were able to push for youth to take the class for free + receive the supplies they needed to move forward. The youth who attended the class ended up producing 1-2 prints which were exhibited at The Richmond Art Center.

My colleagues and I have also had the opportunity to hold free workshops at local community centers, high schools and community events. We've provided all the equipment such as paper and paint in hopes of getting community engagement and interest to silk screen printing.

Our work is not only driven by social justice, culture, and the realities that our communities go through but as well as the need of expression and platforms to do so.

We've been involved with the Richmond Art Center for about two years now and they have been really welcoming and open to us using their studio to produce work. Due to COVID, access to the center has been rough but we've been looking for ways to continue our work and this gofundme is a step. Having this exposure unit will allow for us to continue our work from home as we strategize ways we can support uprisings and movements happening locally and throughout the state with art.

Please support in donating and sharing as we look to continue our involvement with community and also look for ways to engage future printers and artists. Thank you so much.
