Manoj Dahal is a Nepalese friend of mine who happens to share my degenerative, neuromuscular disease, Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA). The disease causes loss of coordination (ataxia) in the arms and legs, fatigue/energy-deprivation, muscle loss, vision impairment, hearing loss, slurred speech, aggressive scoliosis (curvature of the spine), diabetes mellitus (insulin - dependent, in most cases), and serious heart conditions like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and arrthymias.
As if life with FA wasn't hard enough, Manoj and his family recently survived the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal. Though they survived (which is the most important thing), their house barely did.

For three weeks following the quake, they were forced to live in a tent. Of course, this was extremely difficult for Manoj so he had to move back into his room in his old house. The room was not a perfect solution to Manoj's problems before. But now, it's even worse as the quake has left the home structurally unsound.
The FA community was introduced to Manoj after this

The FA community was introduced to Manoj after this
interview he completed on Curefa.org. We are working together with Manoj to raise the money for a new, more accessible home for him. We estimate that this will cost about $30,000. Your help would be greatly appreciated and most necessary in making this a reality for Manoj!
