Hello, my name is Keren Prescott; I am a single mother, author, entrepreneur, community leader, advocate, activist and a survivor who has been fighting and advocating for others for years but now I need my community to help me fight MS.
I was diagnosed with MS in 2013 and it has been an uphill battle for the last 10 years. I have lost several jobs, started businesses to supplement my income that had to be closed due to flare ups, applied for and denied disability twice.
August 2023 I found out my MS progressed after months of not feeling well. I was told that my MRI showed 3 new active lesions. I developed new symptoms like tremors and flashing lights, chronic migraines causing 1 sided weakness, memory loss, brain fog and more.
My depression and anxiety has gotten worse as a result my team of doctors and I decided it is time for me to take care of myself. I am taking a 3 month leave of absence from work.
It is very difficult for me to ask for help and even harder to accept help. I feel ashamed and embarrassed but I am learning that there is no shame in needing support.
Your support will help me gain access to non traditional and holistic health care services as well as keep my bills paid and food on the table for myself and my family as I focus on my healing.
Thank you for sharing and supporting.
Keren
