Morgan's Top Surgery Fund

Hi friends and family!

It's me! Mo!

So, after years of waiting and chipping away, it's finally happening! I'm FINALLY getting top surgery. If you've talked to me in the past few years, you probably know this is something I've been daydreaming about, and *praying* could become possible for me. It wasn't until relatively recently I was able to find the language to express this need, although it has existed for as long as I can remember.

For those of you who maybe haven't seen me in a while, in 2018, I came out as transgender. I'm very happily out as a Non-Binary, Trans-masculine human, and my pronouns are "they/he." I've been fortunate to get the support I need to go on Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy, and now I can move forward with Top Surgery (a double mastectomy) that will improve my entire life. If my child self could see me now, they would be overwhelmed with joy, relief and excitement. Adult-me feels that way, too.

But, this is America, and, sadly, even with insurance covering part of the procedure, I need help. So, I'm hoping and praying that folks can donate even $10 to this campaign and help me make this possible.

Your donation will go towards:
  • Cost of Surgery: Although my insurance will cover 20% of the surgery, I still have to pay my deductible and be prepared for unexpected costs. This will add up to at least $5,000, potentially more.
  • Food, lodging and travel before, during and after the Surgery, which will take place at the Gender Confirmation Center in San Francisco. This means I'll have to be able to stay in SF for a few days before my procedure and about a week afterward.
  • Rent and bills! I will have to take close to a month off work in order to properly heal up after top surgery, and it's likely this time will be unpaid. For me, losing a month of work is the difference between falling behind financially for years and staying afloat.

If you can't donate, please send this to your community. Every dollar changes my life forever.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support. It feels impossible to express what this surgery means to me; and your willingness to help me on my way to feeling seen, safe and euphoric in my body is something that is powerful beyond measure. I'm so proud to share my gender journey with you. ️‍⚧️

Love & Lightning,
Morgan
