Syrian Refugee Living Essentials
Donation protected
One of the fondest memories of my childhood were the trips we would take with my grandmother, my teta, from Amman, Jordan to Damascus, Syria to visit our family. Fond memories I will always cherish. My grandmother was Syrian. She was a great woman. Syria was an amazing country. I am very lucky to say that my family in Syria were able to get out safely before things got very ugly. There have been many wars and many tragedies in this world during my lifetime. I have always wanted to do something and sadly never did. This time I have an opportunity to do something. This tragedy we all know as the Syrian Refugee crisis is on my doorstep. This time I can do something to help. I decided I would take donations over to the German Red Cross for the many refugees who are now coming to Germany. I am very impressed with how Germany is opening its doors to aid hundreds of thousands. I was going to go out and get items that they are seeking such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, basic necessities, along with clothes my children no longer fit in, to drop off at the donation locations. But then I thought maybe I could bring more than what my own pocket book could support. That is why I decided to give this a try. I opened up a GoFundMe account to see if I could collect donations to purchase more of those basic everyday items they are desperately seeking more of. I am doing this in honor of my teta and the many beautiful people who have lost their country, their home, the life they once knew and hopefully be able to give just a little that may make such an already difficult transition that much easier.
