XV232 Ground Power Unit Fund

XV232  is a retired maritime reconnaissance
aircraft that was operated by the Royal Air Force. Its role was varied, including anti-submarine, maritime surveillance and search and rescue.  This particular aircraft holds the record for the longest distance flown for a reconnaissance flight. Supported by in-flight refuelling, the aircraft covered 8,453 miles (13,609km) in 18h and 50min.

Retired in 2010, it was relocated to Coventry airport. The aircraft started to decay and in 2013 Graham Morgan, who flew on Nimrods, gathered a small group of volunteers together to help preserve the aircraft. Nimrod Preservation Group XV232 Limited (company number 10355947) is a not for profit organisation that maintains and ground operates XV232 for the benefit of heritage, education and commemoration.

We are in urgent need of a new ground power unit as our current one is extremely temperamental and likely to completely fail at any time.  It was built in the 60s and beyond repair.   A GPU is needed to allow us to apply power to the aircraft.

All donations from this particular fundraising campaign will go towards the purchase of a new GPU

For each multiple of £5 donated to our XV232 Ground Power Unit Fund, via Go Fund Me, you will have one chance entered in to our free prize draw.

There is no limit on the amount that can be donated.

The prize is a seat onboard XV232 during one of our taxi runs at Coventry airport.

The prize must be redeemed on a mutually agreed date, but, in any case, before the end of 2018.

The winner will be selected at random and informed once our fundraising campaign has reached its target or when we deem the campaign to be over.

All donations will go to the purchase of a new GPU.

Full details of the prize will be confirmed with the winner.

Prize is not exchangeable for cash or valid with any other offers.

Volunteers of Nimrod Preservation Group XV232 Ltd, their families or anyone else connected in any way with the prize draw shall not be permitted to win the prize draw.
