Lisa grammatas Chordoma Fund

Lisa Grammatas has been my very best friend for the past twenty -eight years. She is a woman of the stongest character, and one of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever known. Lisa is forty years old,and a working, single Mother of 4 beautiful, happy, healthy children that are her heart, and the center of her existence.
As we know being a parent is not for the faint of heart, especially when doing it alone. She has recently been diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor, believed to be what is known as a Clival Chordoma. It is a very rare cancer. Literally, a one in a million case, per million people, per year.
Because of the rarity there is no medicinal plan of care. The only course of treatment is brain surgery after brain surgery, as it is a recurring tumor with no known cure at this time. With each surgery there is an expected 6 to 8 week recovery period. That is assuming that there are no complications. Lisa will be unable to work at her place of employment, as head waitress at Nese's Country Cafe in Lordstown, Ohio. Fortunately, she has a wonderful boss and great staff, so she will retain job security. However, while on sick leave she will have no source of income. She is a hard working woman who has been very generous and caring to others in their times of need. I would feel remiss if I didn't tell you a little about her on a personal note and only spoke of her illness. She is not one to dwell in sadness or despair. Lisa is a very rare person, in and of herself. She shines and leaves a light of fun and goodness with everyone fortunate enough to know her!!
To call her a social butterfly /people person is an understatement. She truly loves life, adventure, and excitement, often times making her own, leaving behind a wave of hysterics for all of us to share in the memories of for years :) She has given us all so much and we all love her so dearly. So, now is our chance to give back, to take some of the unfathomable worry I know she must feel, to keep her children in their home and food on the table until she is strong enough and able to return to work again. We are asking that you donate any amount you are able, to help her fight this tremendous battle that lies ahead of her !!! It will be so greatly appreciated and give her some much needed peace. She and her children are so deeply deserving. Thank you in advance from all of us who love her!!!
