Help a Mother and Her Children Escape Abuse

As many know, I have been stuck in a toxic and financially abusive relationship I have been trying to crawl my way out of. Things have come to a boiling point before I could get my ducks in a row but my youngest daughter’s safety was yet again threatened so here we are.

My, now, ex-boyfriend I have lived with for the last three has a pill problem. He recently had his biggest enabler buy him yet another new car, and for the first time since our almost three year old daughter was born a car seat. October 24th, my daughter’s father thought it was acceptable to shoot up (morphine) and immediately pick our daughter up so I couldn’t get her and try to put her in the car to go to the pet store. I stood behind his car while I was on the phone with 911 letting them know what happened. An officer ended up coming out almost 45 minutes later, I ended up removing her from the unlocked car and brought her into my neighbor’s home before they got here. The police officer did nothing and put it down as a custody issue. Did no type of sobriety check. Didn’t make him take off his sunglasses or check the track marks on his arms that I told her about. I went to the courthouse to file an emergency custody protection order, and the judge deemed that it was not an emergency and set a hearing for Christmas Eve.

even though he is still in the house, he decided to not pay rent this month and has been working on moving his stuff out, but is continuing to stay in the house for the time being. Legally, there is nothing that I can do. he has sabotage a good job that I had and I have been unable to work. Our local daycare assistance resource requires that you are already working a minimum of 20 hours per week. Without childcare, I cannot work. Without working, I can’t qualify for assistance. I have been up and down 211 and domestic abuse resources for the last almost 2 years trying to get help so that I could get out but because I have not been physically hit I am not being abused enough to qualify for any resources. The last day for rent to be due was yesterday, so I will be yet again reaching out to 211 resources for help to cover my rent this month and getting electric switched to my name because he could cut that off at any moment as well because it is in his name. I will need to find help by the 15th so that I do not get evicted as I have three children to protect. I have been putting in applications left and right however, I have missed three interviews now due to no childcare.

this has been my last resort. I’m hoping to have a little extra so that I can put Hazel into daycare so I can physically follow up with places that I have applications into and land a job and pay a little ahead on my car insurance so that I don’t have to worry about it. Once I am on my feet, I am willing to pay any amount that I loan back as well.
