Jesus Castillo is the epitome of what it means to be a husband, father and firefighter. Many of you know him well and have been positively impacted by your interactions with him. For those of you that don’t know him, he has served in Montgomery County for the past decade and is currently a Lt. at Porter Fire Department. He lives his life with a level of intensity and dedication that drives those around him to strive to get better every day and be the best that they can be. He is the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. He has poured his heart into the fire service and the individuals he has worked with the past 10 years. He is an “in the trenches” kind of leader. He sweats and bleeds with his guys on a daily basis and is the one you want covering your back when it hits the fan. Now we have the honor and opportunity to come alongside him and his sweet family during an incredibly difficult time. Lt. Castillo was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. While the outlook may be grim, he is a fighter and we are going to fight with him. I would like to ask first and foremost for the prayers of everyone who reads this for him and his family during this time. Additionally if you are able to come alongside them financially to help alleviate some of the financial stress and burdens that they have already begun to encounter I know that would be a huge blessing to them. This is a man who has sacrificially served the citizens of Montgomery County as well as his fellow first responders for the past decade. Let us take this opportunity to serve him.
