As most of you know, our Mason suffered a brain injury in November 2018. He was diagnosed with pneumonia MRSA; he was very sick and encountered complications during a procedure.

Fast forward three years, and he continues to make progress, but it's very slow like most brain injuries are. We pray daily for complete restoration to his health.

Mason is at a critical stage in his life-he remains so very limited, yet we have such promise of continued movement and gains. He is able to be upright and standing when supported in a gait device. Unfortunately, it takes 2-3 people for him to get into a gait trainer, and walk in the device. We have searched for a system or means to help Mason accomplish this task with fewer people supporting him. Mason should be walking in his gait trainer several times a day, and this is not possible if it always takes 2-3 people every time he needs to be in it.

We have been fortunate to find such a system and solution for Mason. Mason is approved as a candidate for a Trexo Home (https://trexorobotics.com). Trexo is a computerized support system that attaches to his gait trainer device so that once he is up, it will assist him in walking. Since the Trexo is considered a new product, insurance companies are reluctant to cover a portion – or any amount – of this device (we are still waiting for approval or denial). We can lease to own with paying $1099 per month for a three-year period total of $39,564, or pay it upfront for $39,000. We are seeking support to raise the current cost of the Trexo so we can have it attached to his gait trainer and support him in walking daily. We want to see him be able to explore his world beyond being in a wheelchair or on a bed/table.
