Support for Chase

Hi , my name is Daveene and I am starting this go fund me page on behalf of Chase, an incredible 14 year old boy who is currently fighting for his life in hospital following a tragic accident. For him and his family, life has just taken a shocking and devastating turn.

Chase was at the same school as my son and is the same age. It could so easily have been my son and - in a way - Chase is indeed one of ‘our’ lovely children. This is why we should be compelled to do all we can to help. Chase is bright and energetic, with a passion for sports. Known for his determination and athletic skill, he has been an inspiration to his teammates and friends. He has always been positive, healthy and strong.

However, on Saturday 3rd May, he suffered severe electrical burns in a life-altering incident when he came into contact with overhead power cables whilst playing at school.

Chase is now in a critical condition. His injuries are extensive, affecting his internal organs and with such severe burns that he has had most of his toes amputated. His feet may have to be amputated and NHS surgeons are working tirelessly. They remain uncertain whether they will be able to save his feet as the burns have caused critical damage. We all pray that no more had to be amputated and we are enormously grateful for everything the NHS is doing. Careful fluid therapy is being used for his internal injuries.

Chase's recovery will be a long and challenging journey. He is expected to remain in the hospital for at least two months, focusing on stabilizing his condition.

His family lives in New Zealand and South Africa. They are, of course, doing everything they can to support Chase and remain functional and strong.

Sadly though, Chase’s Mum and Dad are alone here in the UK until family are able to join them and provide much needed love, support and comfort.

The financial burden of ongoing care for Chase is going to be immense. Family members can’t afford to take time away from work and there are also huge costs involved with travel and accommodation for his family to be together.

We are asking for your help to give Chase the best possible chance at recovery. He needs support from these early stages, where the love and presence of his dear family is so important but also for his longer term care and rehabilitation.

Your generous contributions will go directly towards Chase’s medical expenses, rehabilitation, and the support he needs for his future.

Every donation will make a meaningful difference in supporting Chase to rebuild his life and get back to doing what he loves.
