Help support Will!

On April 24th, 2023 an amazing young man from our community experienced a devastating accident that has horifically affected the course of his life. As Will was enjoying the lake with friends on a sunny Sunday afternoon, he tragically slipped on a rock which consequently broke his neck in multiple areas completely severing his spinal cord leaving him paralyzed. For the past month, Will has been struggling to survive in Neuro ICU at Wellstar Kennestone hospital. and was The plan is to get him to The Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta to receive more specialized rehabilitation.
Will is a young vibrant 26 year old gentleman who is committed to a lifestyle of recovery and to leading others in their recovery journey. You can imagine the impact this has had on his life. Will has been a part of our community here at The ROCC for over 2 years and consistently has impacted so many lives to seek a better way. Will is passionate about his recovery and helping others. He is the type of person that would see someone on the side of the road who needed help and would take the shirt off his own back for them.
Will came to Georgia about 3 years ago from St. Louis, Missouri with nothing but himself and a few clothes. Once he arrived in Georgia, he searched for a place where he could live in an environment committed to recovery and start a new life. He was living in Summerville when he was accepted into a Sober Living community in Cherokee County. He was so excited about his new life that he drove his bike all the way from Summerville to Canton to start his program. THAT IS DETERMINATION! Once he arrived in Cherokee County he became a part of The ROCC and immediately chaired the Young and Alive  12 step AA group that met each week. He was devoted to facilitating this group and serving others.

His recent tragedy has been devastating not only to him but for our entire community. Will is such a promising young man with a bright future that is now facing so many obstacles that no one should ever have to endure. We are all fighting passionately for Will to have the best care possible and give him hope that he can still have a promising future. They say it takes a village, well... we need the village to come together in multiple ways to help this young man who has helped so many others.
Will is a fighter and we are a community of fighters. He has fought for so many others, and now it is time for us to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves in their time of need. We will continue to love, support, and care for Will, and our specific ask of the community is to please come together as a whole to specifically pray for his rehabilitation.
Just one month prior, Will had secured health insurance for himself, which has covered most of his immediate needs; however, he needs financial support to cover many of the future living expenses and medical care not covered by insurance that he is about to encounter. Please donate to help support Will.
