My name is Olivia Schmitt and my daughter's best friend recently became a big sister on December 29, 2015. Sadly the baby, Nikolas Kristian Luker, was born with missing valves in his heart and an open artery. His ailments are much more complicated than I can explain, but in his short three months of life he has required multiple medications just to allow him to breathe. He is currently in congestive heart failure.

Surgery will hopefully be this month at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. It is an 8-hour open heart surgery that will require at least a 2-week stay in the hospital for recovery, so the costs to the family will be substantial. 

His big hearted older sister has been selling lemonade from her driveway in an effort to help pay for her baby brother's surgery. Any funds that are raised that cannot be used by the family will be donated to another family facing heart surgery.

These are really good people who are facing a really scary time. Please help lessen their financial burden if you are so moved.
