We are Xtreme Exotics, a pet store where animals matter. We go above and beyond for the well being of all animals and as well as our community. We not only provide the knowledge it takes to keep pets both healthy and safe, but we provide a safe haven for all types of pets that don't have homes.

We work with many rescue facilities and are an FWC amnesty drop off center, we strive to make sure that any and every animal that needs a home finds a home. We want to mske sure that each animal can be safe and happy. Whether it's the creepy crawly or soft and
cuddly, we value all critters the same. We always show the love and compassion that's needed to make sure all animals will have the life time loving home that they deserve.

We are the leading provider in educational animal talks for all venues in both North Florida and South Georgia. Wether it be schools, summer camps, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Churches, or other educational facilities. We want to make sure that both children and adults understand the value and importance of the wildlife we live with. Also striving to show the very important part they play in the ecosystem and the world we live in.

We are asking for help from the community in order fund the last stage of a newer, larger facility with educational exhibits, larger animal housing, as well as providing us with the opportunity to expand our out reach on saving wildlife and teaching the upcoming generations on the importance of the worlds very delicate ecological environment.

On average, we take in 200 to 300 hundred animal donations and rescues every year. And we have been in business now for over 10 years. We first try to see if the animal can be reintroduced to the wild without harming the ecosystem or the animal. If not, the animal is either kept for educational purposes or re-homed to a responsible entity.

Last year we decided to move locations due to increasing expenses and lack of space. Our new location affords more room to keep the animals we cannot sell or re-home due to the type of animal or it's disposition at a less expensive operating cost. In the process of trying to open we have run into many obstacles, and despite all efforts we have managed to overcome all but this last one.

We started our move back in November of 2014. During build out for the new location, We were in compliance with the Duval County 2010 building code. The City of Jacksonville however has decided that as of January 2015 we have to now comply with the 2015 building code. There are many changes to the ordinance that now make it VERY expensive to open a facility like ours with the new building code. This unfortunate circumstance has led us here.

One of the requirements for the new code is a fully monitored fire system. The cost for this system is around $10,000.00 dollars to install. Without this system being installed, we cannot be issued a COU (Certificate of Occupancy) and cannot complete our buildout. After much debate regarding when we started this verses when the new ordinance should have taken affect, The city has the final say.

In addition we also have to cover the cost of feeding and caring for the over 100 plus animals we now have on site. which is roughly another $5,000.00 per month. As our doors for the new location have not yet been allowed to open and no income generated as a result, you can imagine the funds originally allocated have diminished rapidly.

But here we are, We are at the finish line and with your help and kindness, we can cross it. With your help, we can accommodate the new requirements within 30 days and once again open our doors to those agencies that have no place for some of these animals as well as to the public.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please help us keep our facility running so we can give these animals the loving homes they richly deserve.
