My mom, Bonnie, has been through so much in the last 2 weeks. It started out with shortness of breath. Little did we know she was in cardiac arrest. I took her to CF ER. Her D-dimer was high; repeated 2 hours later, it was EVEN HIGHER! Off to Rochester by ambulance.
Admitted. The first day, she had a stress test: 2/3 blocked and her aortic valve needed to be replaced. The most horrible news we could endure. Then the next day, she had an angiogram. It was not successful; they were not able to put stents in.
After a week of being there, she needed open-heart surgery with an aortic valve replacement. They had to make sure she was a candidate for surgery.
All tests came back good for surgery EXCEPT her teeth. She needed her TWENTY-SEVEN teeth REMOVED.
(We are born with 32 teeth.)
The next day, her teeth were removed.
OMG! Talk about PAIN! My poor mom was in horrible pain!
This was done last Friday, 9/5, and the triple bypass with a new aortic valve was on Monday, 9/8.
She is still in PCU and heading to transition care on Tuesday. She has a very long recovery. She needs to be able to keep her place to live so she has a place to go home and call home. She often wonders what her doctor's bills will be and is hoping they will cover her dentures.
Please, any little bit will help. If you can, just simply pray for my mom. Prayer goes a long way as my mom has a heart of gold and she just needs a tune-up!! God bless!
