Our boy Baxter has chronic arthritis. As a result, multiple X-rays and a CT scan have found fractures and bone spurs in and around his elbow joint due to his bones being so brittle (from the vet: think about having sand or small pebbles in his joint!). In short, the cost of Baxter's examinations, preliminary treatment, sedation, and coming procedure to remove the fragments of broken bone and treat his leg fully are stacking up quickly. For the time being, Baxter is only able to function somewhat normally on heavy pain medication he takes every day, while wearing a cast the length of his leg.
Many of you have experienced the joy of a walk with Baxter, the everlasting memories of short, white hairs on dark cloth, or maybe that weird thing he does with his back legs after pooping. Maybe you've never met Baxter, but you have your own aging or ailing pet and know that the more support an owner has to care for them, the more comfortable they can make their animal as they age. He's still got a lot of life to live and wants to get back to his daily walks and excursions to play in the river!
Please help us pay for some of Baxter's medical expenses - it is stereotypical and it is accurate to say that every little bit counts. If you've ever met me you know I would do anything for Baxter and this surgery just happens to be one of those things. I would be extremely grateful for any help you can give Baxter to help him get back to his normal self again. Thank you <3
