Support Our Family in This Tragic Loss

On Monday, April 28 our family faced an unimaginable loss – our sweet boy Lens Arthur Joseph was struck and killed by his school bus while coming home.

In his short 5 years of life Lens already had so many big dreams for himself and an imagination beyond his years. At only 3 years old Lens could say with confidence “I want to be a pilot“. By 5 years old the vision had changed and he told anyone that would listen “I want to be a cop”. Lens’ smile lit up every room he was in and his energy was unmatched. Lens was so funny and witty that he would make all of us laugh out loud with a joke or comment and then look at him wondering how did he come up with it. Lens loved running around outside and playing with his siblings and cousins. He loved watching planes fly, and seeing fast cars. Lens was a beautiful, curious, and intelligent boy taken from us too soon.

This sudden loss has left our family with unbearable mental, emotional, and financial hardships. Due to the overwhelming outreach and desired support from the community near and far, we decided to set up a fund for our family to help through this tragedy. My brother, Lens’ father and his mother have lost their only shining son. As we grieve and face this heartbreaking new reality, we would like to extend our appreciation for the generosity and compassion shown to our family from all those also affected by the tragic loss of our loving Lens.
