We picked up Sparkles 2 1/2 months ago from Springfield from a transporter who transported her from a kill lot in Oklahoma. We are giving Sparkles a second chance. Sparkles’ abdomen has been huge ever since we picked her up in Springfield. We thought she was either pregnant or overweight. We started her on regular exercise and a special diet. She started colicing on Monday and we took her down to the University of Illinois. They have been treating her for colic with iv fluids and medications to see if they can get her to pass manure. With further testing she was found to have enteroliths which are stones in her intestines and is in need of immediate surgery. The surgery treatment and aftercare will be approximately $10,000. We are asking for help to keep giving sparkles a second chance.
